Ingredients

Units Scale

Ingredients:

  • 250 g lean beef mince
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 bacon medallions (or rashers with the fat removed)
  • 2 burger cheese slices (or your choice of cheese)
  • Salt and pepper

To serve: (OPTIONALS)

  • Rolls/burger buns
  • Mayonnaise
  • Salad
  • Sliced tomato
  • Sliced onion
  • Sliced pickles

Instructions

  1. Line a plate or oven tray with baking paper.
  2. Put the minced beef and onion in a mixing bowl and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Mix together with clean hands until combined.
  4. Form into 2 burgers and transfer them to the plate or oven tray.
  5. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to firm them up.
  6. Drizzle a little olive oil in a large frying pan and place over a medium heat.
  7. Start the bacon medallions cooking in a griddle pan (or second frying pan), turning occasionally as needed.
  8. Carefully slide the burgers into the hot frying pan.
  9. Cook for a minute or two on each side to seal and then continue cooking until brown and cooked through. When cooked, place a cheese slice on each burger and allow to melt slightly in the heat of the pan before removing the burgers to a plate.
  10. Dress your rolls/buns as you like with sauces, salad etc and then add the bacon and burgers.
