Description
More is less with beef burger recipes – minced beef, onion, salt and pepper make a delicious meaty and perfectly seasoned patty. Topped with a lower-fat bacon medallion and some light mayo and salad added – job done!

Ingredients:
- 250 g lean beef mince
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 bacon medallions
- 2 burger cheese slices (or your choice of cheese)
- Salt and pepper
To serve: (OPTIONALS)
- Rolls/burger buns
- Mayonnaise
- Salad
- Sliced tomato
- Sliced onion
- Sliced pickles
Instructions
- Line a plate or oven tray with baking paper.
- Put the minced beef and onion in a mixing bowl and season with salt and pepper.
- Mix together with clean hands until combined.
- Form into 2 burgers and transfer them to the plate or oven tray.
- Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to firm them up.
- Drizzle a little olive oil in a large frying pan and place over a medium heat.
- Start the bacon medallions cooking in a griddle pan (or second frying pan), turning occasionally as needed.
- Carefully slide the burgers into the hot frying pan.
- Cook for a minute or two on each side to seal and then continue cooking until brown and cooked through. When cooked, place a cheese slice on each burger and allow to melt slightly in the heat of the pan before removing the burgers to a plate.
- Dress your rolls/buns as you like with sauces, salad etc and then add the bacon and burgers.
